Griffin Selling Chicago Apartment

Citadel Investment Group’s Kenneth Griffin is making clear to his estranged wife that he’s not going anywhere.

The billionaire has listed a condo he owns in Chicago for $1.4 million. The three-bedroom, 2,500-square-foot condo in the city’s Bloomingdale’s Building, is just two blocks south of the Park Tower, where Griffin and his family live.

Two years ago, Griffin bought a full-floor penthouse in that Magnificent Mile building for $15 million—the highest price ever paid for a Chicago condo—after separating from his wife, Anne Dias Griffin. That condo is just one floor below the one he formerly shared with her and their three children.

Griffin filed for divorce earlier this year. The dispute has gotten nasty, with Dias Griffin alleging coercion to force her to sign a prenuptial agreement and accusing her husband of demolishing part of her apartment. Dias Griffin has also asked the court for permission to move—with their children—to New York, where she lived before their marriage.

The Bloomingdale’s apartment is on the building’s 54th floor and has south-, east- and west-facing exposures. Griffin paid $1.02 million for the three-bedroom home in 1995.
