The Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association has launched its newest chapter in India.

CAIA India is the organization’s 23rd global chapter, and will provide a community for CAIA members in the region. CAIA is a leader in alternative investment education, and chapters offer educational, networking and career events to members.

The asset management industry in India is expanding at approximately 12% per year, according to CAIA, one of the fastest in the world.

“As the sophistication and size of the alternative investment industry in India have grown and evolved, so too has the demand for best-in-class education,” noted William Kelly, CAIA CEO, in a statement. “We’ve had CAIA members on the ground in India since our earliest years, and I’m thrilled to now launch a formal chapter here.”

The new chapter is currently represented in Mumbai and Delhi, and is dedicated to the mission of building understanding of the diverse field of alternative investments and building awareness of alternatives within India’s broader financial services sector.

Founded in 2002, the CAIA Association is best known for the CAIA Charter, an internationally recognized credential granted to those in the institutional alternative investments industry upon successful completion of a rigorous two-level exam series and accumulation of relevant work experience.

The association is comprised of more than 7,700 alternative investment professionals located in more than 80 countries, sponsors more than 140 educational an networking events per year and has 34 academic partnerships with leading universities around the world.
