TCA Fund Management Names Fickling As PM on New Fund

TCA Fund Management has named Bill Fickling a portfolio manager and operating partner for the company’s inaugural small-cap private equity fund that invests in underserved growth stage companies.

Fickling will focus on overseeing portfolio investments and securing returns from equity positions where TCA has capital invested, according to a statement. TCA and its new fund, which takes a hybrid approach between short-term, senior, secured credit and a traditional private equity model, were subjects of an in-depth Q&A on FINalternatives back in August.

Fickling has more than 40 years’ experience leading investment organizations, TCA said in the statement, and is the former vice president of Mulberry Street Investment Company.

“Bill has been a trusted advisor and one of our operating partners for several years,” said TCA founding partner and CEO Bob Press. “When the decision was made to extend our business model and start a private equity fund, we knew his instincts and expertise made him the perfect choice to manage the portfolio.”

Founded in 2004, TCA is a predominately short-duration, absolute return manager specializing in senior secured lending and advisory services to mostly public small- and medium-sized businesses located mainly in the US, Canada, Western Europe and Australia.
