Adams Business Credit Rebrands As Context Business Lending

Asset-based lending specialist Adams Business Credit has rebranded as Context Business Lending, bringing the unit into alignment with the family of businesses operating under the umbrella of alternative investment firm Context Capital Partners.

The affiliate will continue to focus on providing flexible working capital solutions for businesses that do not qualify for traditional bank financing, according to an article in Small Business Lending Daily. The business typically provides loans of up to $15 million for challenged lower middle-market businesses facing rapid growth, seasonal fluctuations, supply chain and vendor pressure, operating losses, negative net worth, turnaround and restructuring needs, or M&A/DIP requirements.

Context Business Lending is sector agnostic and works with businesses in the manufacturing, distribution, wholesaling and service sectors, the article added.

“Even as traditional financial institutions tighten their underwriting criteria and pull back from the middle market, we believe there is a wide funding gap in the market for flexible financial sources,” said John Giangiulio, co-founder of Context Business Lending, in a statement. “Context Business Lending is a true asset-based lender that does not focus on financial covenants which often restrict a business from seizing opportunities for growth.”

“We are very excited to realign the Adams brand with the Context family of businesses, which are designed to provide alternative managers with the financial and operational resources needed to succeed,” added Ron Biscardi, CEO of Context Capital Partners. “The team’s expertise in asset-based lending complements our full suite of alternative-focused funds and companies, which include Context Asset Management and Context Summits.”

Founded originally as Adams Business Credit in 2013, Context Business Lending is based in Bala Cynwyd, PA and was already strategic partner to Context Capital Partners prior to the rebrand. The company is a national asset-based lender providing flexible working capital for lower middle-market businesses that do not qualify for traditional bank financing.

Context Capital Partners, meanwhile, is an alternatives specialist whose subsidiaries offer a diverse range of investment strategies, including hedge funds, liquid alternative mutual funds, and private equity funds. In addition to Context Asset Management, the firm’s business units include Context Jensen Partners, Context Summits, Context BH Capital Management, Context Liberty Bell, Titan Capital Management and Context Business Lending.
