BNP Paribas Hires Speciale To Lead Asia Pacific Institutional Sales

BNP Paribas Asset Management has named former BNY Mellon Investment Management executive Mark Speciale as head of institutional sales for Asia Pacific. 

In his new role, Speciale will lead the bank’s APAC institutional sales strategy, client relationship management and consultant engagement, the company said in a statement. He will focus on strengthening existing partnerships and building new ones with central banks, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and insurance companies in the region. 

Based in Singapore, Speciale will report to Ligia Torres, the firm's Hong Kong-based Asia-Pacific CEO. The position is new, BNP AM added. 

Speciale brings more than 30 years of financial services experience to his new position. He joins from BNY Mellon, where he was Asia-Pacific head of institutional distribution within its investment management business. His career also includes several stops at Capital International, where he served as head of sales and client service of Asia-Pacific ex-Japan, based in Singapore. He began his career in the U.S. and moved to Singapore in 1997 to lead Asian business development for Fischer Fischer Francis Trees & Watts.
