Global private markets manager Adams Street Partners has named former Magnetar Capital executive Alicia Pando as a partner and the firm’s chief technology officer.

In her new role, Pando will be responsible for leading the firm’s software development and IT infrastructure functions, the company said. She will be a member of the firm’s operating committee and will report to Jeff Diehl, managing partner and head of investments. The position is new.

Pando brings more than 20 years of software development and technology leadership to Adams Street. Prior to coming aboard, she spent 12 years at $13.5 billion alternative asset manager Magnetar Capital, where she served as the firm’s CTO and, most recently, as COO of its Fundamental Strategies business. Beforehand, Pando held roles at Citadel Investment Group, Think Tools and UBS.

Adams Street Partners commenced its investment program in 1972, and is credited with establishing the first private equity fund of funds for institutional investors. Today, the company manages some $32 billion across five strategies – primary and secondary private fund investments, co-investments, private credit investments, and direct venture/growth investments
