Global investment management company Schroders has named former BlackRock executive Charles Prideaux to the new position of head of solutions.

In his new role, Prideaux will be responsible for strategic advice, customization and risk management to institutional and intermediary investors globally, the company said. He will report to Richard Mountford, global head of the product division.

Prideaux will join Schroders on October 2, the company added. He replaces longtime executive John McLaughlin, who will retire from the asset management industry at the end of this year.

Prior to joining Schroders, Prideaux worked for BlackRock and its former companies since 1988, serving in roles including head of institutional client business for EMEA. He was most recently head of active investments for EMEA, concentrating on equities, fixed income and multi-asset.

London-based Schroders is a global asset management company with more than $543 billion in assets under management for major financial institutions, pension funds, governments, charities, high net worth individuals and retail investors, invested into a broad range of active strategies across equities, fixed income, multi-asset, alternatives and real estate.
