Signal Capital Partners has raised €725 million in capital commitments for a new investment strategy targeting credit and real estate special situations.

The strategy is split into two vehicles which closed in July 2017, according to a statement, and which have already deployed more than €450 million across 15 investments.

Signal’s new credit opportunities fund focuses on investments in complex, private bilateral situations and highly illiquid public market instruments. The company’s real estate opportunities fund targets CRE investments including private lending, acquisition of debt portfolios and special situation equity. Details about assets dedicated to each fund were unavailable, but each targets transactions of €25 million – €75 million across Europe.

Capital for the strategy was raised from a diverse set of institutional investors, Signal said, including endowments, foundations, pension funds, insurance companies, and large family offices across Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia.

Based in London and founded in 2015, Signal Capital Partners is a private asset management firm focused on complex, special situations in European real estate and credit markets. The team of 15, of which 11 are investment professionals, manages €750 million in AUM.
