Private structured credit manager Crayhill Capital Management has named former Barings executive Shamafa Khan as a managing director and head of the company’s investor relations and marketing functions.

In her new role, Khan will leverage previous experience in capital raising and client relationships to lead the marketing and sales efforts of Crayhill’s private asset-based lending and credit opportunity funds, the company said in a statement.

Khan brings more than 13 years of alternative investment expertise to Crayhill. She most recently worked as a director in the global business development group of Barings LLC, where she was responsible for capital raising and client relationships for a suite of fixed income strategies. Beforehand, she was an associate director in UBS’s Capital Introduction Group, where she advised hedge fund clients and institutional investors on capital raising and investment efforts.

Launched in 2015 by Magnetar Capital vets Josh Eaton and Carlos Mendez along with Strategos Capital Management managing director Frederick Horton, New York-based Crayhill Capital Management specializes in asset-based, private structured credit investments. The company provides tailored capital solutions to experienced and growing specialty finance companies and other asset-heavy platforms that do not have ready access to funding through traditional channels.
