Value Partners Group Unveils New Global EM Equity UCITS Fund

Hong Kong-based Value Partners Group has launched a new UCITS-compliant fund that will concentrate on global emerging market equities.

The new fund is domiciled in Dublin and is aimed at UK and European investors, according to an article in Citywire. It reportedly relies on the company’s proprietary “SMART” alpha/beta active value-oriented strategy that combines quantitative capabilities with fundamental analysis gleaned from the local acumen of its investment teams. 

The strategy is managed by industry veteran Kenny Tjan, who also oversees the group’s Singapore business. The company envisions a product that reflects high conviction fundamental bottom-up stock picking ideas while generating more stable alpha through a systematic and consistent portfolio construction framework, according to a statement. It aims to achieve consistent outperformance of 5% on average over five years.

The UCITS version of the fund was registered in August 2017 and will be passported for sale across Europe and the UK.

The company managed some $16.5 billion as of 30 September 2017 deployed across equities, fixed income, quantitative, multi-asset and alternatives for institutional and individual clients in Asia Pacific, Europe and the United States.
