Online lending specialist Orchard Platform has inked an agreement to provide its data and analytics to Bloomberg terminal subscribers in an effort to provide information to the growing number of institutional investors interested in the growing asset class.

The company’s insights will be available via Bloomberg Intelligence, Bloomberg’s research division, Orchard said in a statement. Information provided will include the Orchard U.S. Consumer Online Lending Index, the only industry-wide performance benchmark for the online lending space, as well as Orchard’s standardardized, industry aggregate data sets and research.

“There is broad interest from institutional investors in online loans,” said Bill Ullman, CEO of Orchard Platform Markets, in the statement. “The investment community is constantly looking for an edge and increasingly finding it with quality data and advanced analytics. We’re excited to be working with Bloomberg and to be able to offer our expertise in this area to their subscribers.”

Headquartered in New York’s Flatiron district and founded in 2013, Orchard Platform is a centralized marketplace where loan originators and institutional investors come together to explore and evaluate opportunities for funding, buying, and selling loans. The company also provides data services, advanced analytics and reporting, and robust capital management tools for platform participants.
