GAM has appointed former Soros Fund Management executive Owen Job as an investment manager on its absolute return fixed income team.

In his new role, Job will have a particular focus on macro themes, the company said, and will be based in London. The new hire brings GAM’s absolute return fixed income team to 19 across both the firm’s London and New York offices. The team manages around $11 billion across a variety of strategies matched to different risk appetites and investment objectives.

Job has more than 12 years of experience in investment management, particularly within the macro strategy space. He was most recently a senior analyst with Soros Fund Management, and was previously a strategist with Brevan Howard from 2013-2015.

Headquartered in Zürich, GAM is an independent asset manager providing active investment solutions and products for institutions, financial intermediaries and private investors under two brands: GAM and Julius Baer Funds. The group has assets under management of $153 billion as of 30 September 2017.
