BNP Paribas Asset Management Launches New Global Absolute Return Strategy

Jan 29 2018 | 9:40pm ET

Paris-based BNP Paribas Asset Management has launched a new UCITS-compliant global absolute return strategy that will focus on global equities and generating alpha through stock selection.

The new fund, named Parvest Global Equity Absolute Return Strategy, is being launched as a sub-fund of the Parvest UCITS V SICAV registered under Luxembourg law, according to a statement. The strategy is intended to appeal to investors concerned with high equity valuations and seeking absolute return strategies with low correlations with underlying markets.

The new Parvest strategy will offer daily liquidity and targets positive returns through the market cycle, the statement added. It aims to deliver performance primarily by capturing stock selection alpha, offering exposure to rising markets as well as being able to generate positive returns in the event of a correction. The strategy is managed by BNPP AM’s Global Equity team, headed by global equities CIO Simon Roberts.

BNP Paribas Asset Management is the investment management arm of BNP Paribas, one of the world’s major financial institutions. Managing and advising €571 billion in assets as at 30 September 2017, the company offers a range of active, passive and quantitative investment solutions covering a broad spectrum of asset classes and regions.
