Allianz Global Investors today announced that it has hired Amundi’s high yield portfolio manager, Sébastien Ploton, to bolster its credit investment management team.

Ploton will be responsible for managing the Allianz euro high-yield defensive strategy and will report to Vincent Marioni, CIO of credit Europe, according to the firm.

This marks Ploton’s second stint at the firm, as he worked at Allianz GI in 2007 as a quantitative analyst before becoming a high yield credit portfolio manager in 2010. He left the group in 2015 to join Amundi as a portfolio manager, covering the European high yield market.

Allianz GI has been expanding its credit investment management and research team, which now has nine portfolio managers.

Overall, the team manages close to €7 billion in assets as of the end of December 2017. Allianz Global Investors is a leading global active investment manager managing more than $580 billion in assets as of September 2017.
