Technology-driven alternative investment platform Artivest has announced the appointment of former Bank of America Merrill Lynch executive Michael Kosoff as director of investment research.

Kosoff’s appointment was reported in early May, and he joined the company in April after eleven years with BofAML, where he was a managing director and head of hedge fund strategies for the company’s Global Wealth & Investment unit. In this role, he led strategic business initiatives, managed key client relationships, and provided direction through the integration and engineering of Bank of America’s hedge fund platform. Beforehand, he was vice president of hedge fund research at CTC Consulting.

“Michael brings unparalleled experience and deep knowledge of the hedge fund and broader alternative investing landscape to the Artivest team,” said Artivest CEO and founder James Waldinger. “His appointment will be instrumental in accelerating Artivest’s growth strategy as we continue leveraging technology to create the most efficient, end-to-end solutions for managers and investors.”

Founded in 2012, New York-based Artivest offers provides access to a select assortment of privately offered alternative investment funds at lower minimums via a proprietary, technology-driven investment platform. The firm completed a $15 million financing round led by KKR in 2015.
