Tullett Prebon has today announced the launch of its Alternative Asset Backed Lending (AABL) desk.
The AABL desk will help private equity and hedge fund managers and their funds secure financing at a time when many lenders are facing significant constraints. Most borrowers currently speak to a small pool of lenders and the AABL desk will help them access a broader range of financing options and optimize the terms on which they borrow.
The AABL desk forms part of TP ICAP’s Institutional Services division, which provides advisory, sales and execution services to a sophisticated client base.
The desk is led by Managing Directors Gareth James and Simon Thwaites. Both are experienced bankers who have run alternative asset-backed lending books at major investment banks including Deutsche, UBS and Credit Suisse.
“The launch of the AABL desk is further evidence of the progress we are making in our division and I’m looking forward to working closely with Gareth, Simon, and the team, to solve the funding needs of many private equity and hedge fund managers,” Sam Ruiz, CEO, TP ICAP Institutional Services, said in a statement.
Tullett Prebon is part of TP ICAP Group which manages a portfolio of businesses, providing intermediary services, contextual insights and intelligence, trade execution solutions and data and analytics.
